Welcome to Chalet S’Zähni! To ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible and to keep the chalet in great condition for future guests, we kindly ask you to follow these house rules:

1. **General Cleanliness** – Please keep the chalet and the surrounding property clean and tidy. – Upon departure, the chalet must be left in a swept-clean condition.

2. **Snow Clearing & Winter Service** – During winter, tenants are responsible for clearing snow around the chalet. This includes: – Pathways and the entrance area – Stairs and paths leading to the street – Please ensure that the snow is cleared safely to avoid accidents.

3. **Hot Water and Resources** – In the mountains, nature and resources are particularly precious. Hot water is provided via a limited boiler, so we kindly ask you to use it thoughtfully so everyone can enjoy their comfort.

4. **Pets** – Pets are only allowed with prior approval. – If you bring pets, please ensure cleanliness and clean up any messes immediately.

5. **Smoking** – Smoking is not permitted inside the chalet. Smokers are welcome to use the outdoor area and must dispose of cigarette butts properly. A cleaning fee of 500 CHF will be charged

6. **Quiet Hours** – Please be considerate of the neighbors and avoid noise between **10:00 PM and 7:00 AM**.

7. **Heating and Ventilation** – Please ventilate regularly to prevent mold formation. – Use heating responsibly and ensure that windows and doors are closed when the heating is on.

8. **Waste Disposal** – Waste must be separated (general waste, glass, paper, PET, etc.) and disposed of at the designated collection points.

9. **Inventory** – Please treat all furniture and inventory with care. In case of damage, kindly notify us immediately.

10. **Emergencies** – In case of emergencies, please contact the provided emergency numbers or the property contact immediately.

Public Transport from Visp to Gasenried, Hubeln bus stop Hublen 71:
  1. Train from Visp to St. Niklaus:

    • Take the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) train from Visp to St. Niklaus.
    • Travel Time: The train ride takes around 35 minutes. Trains typically run every 30-60 minutes.
  2. Bus from St. Niklaus to Gasenried, Hubeln:

    • Once you arrive at St. Niklaus Train Station, take the PostBus (Bus 553 (or 551 to Niedergrächen and change to 553, or walk 350m) – please check board in case its updated) towards Gasenried.
    • Get off at the Gasenried, Hubeln stop.
    • Travel Time: The bus ride from St. Niklaus to Gasenried, Hubeln takes approximately 15 minutes.

Public Transport from Gasenried, Hubeln to Grächen Centre:

  1. Bus from Gasenried, Hubeln to Grächen Centre:
    • From the Gasenried, Hubeln bus stop, board the PostBus (Bus 553) towards Grächen and change after one stop Niedergräche to Bus 551 or walk directly to bus stop Niedergrächen approx 350m and take bus 551.
    • Get off at the Grächen Post stop in Grächen Centre.
    • Travel Time: The bus ride from Gasenried, Hubeln to Grächen Centre takes approximately 7 minutes.

To lock the door from.the outside please press the triangle on the keypad.

To lock the door from the inside press the button in the door nob once. This button will also open the door again.

The whole chalet is non – smoking, non – vaping. In case of smoke detection a cleaning fee of 500 CHF will be charged 

Either take the bus stopping direct in front of the chalet (stop called: Hubeln) for one stop and change (wait 1-3 minutes) or walk 450m to the next bus stop (stop called: Niedergrächen)

Alternatively drive to the ski station by car (4-5min) and park in a public car park or use those private parking options:

Yes, you can drink the tap water in St. Niklaus, Switzerland. Switzerland is known for having some of the highest quality tap water in the world. The country has strict regulations and rigorous standards for water quality, so the tap water is generally very safe and clean. In St. Niklaus, as in most Swiss municipalities, the water comes from well-maintained sources and undergoes regular testing to ensure it meets high standards. Enjoy your trip and the fresh, clean water!

Those settings for the radiator would bring the best results to heat up the flat/house

Before leaving the flat, please make sure to lock the terrace door from the inside and close it. Otherwise the door remains open from the outsie

Switzerland is taking recycling very serious. Please comply with local laws. Please put all rubbish into an orange official bin bag, available at all local supermarkets if the one provided isn’t sufficient. After leaving the flat please put the orange bag into the metal container just across the chalet – see picture. There is the possibility for recycling cardboard, PET bottle, glas, aluminium/metal at several locations in town and the nearest just at the main street crossing. See pictures

To open the fixed blinds outside the windows to be able to close them simply lift lift the round piece slightly up and move the lock to the front away from the window. Now you are able to drag the blinds towards the window and fix them so that wind can’t reopen it  

The car park is located approx 90m in front of the house down the hill on the right side driving uphill. In the middle is a sign, please park left side of this sign only. For unloading and loading the car the bay in front of the house is available (max 5min parking). Please avoid crossing the white line marked on the street while (in)loading 

Please respect our neighbours sheep and do not feed them. Those Valais Alpine mountain sheeps are a rare species. Our neighbour is visiting twice a day and feeding them already with suitable food.

Important Information for Using Your Stove in the upper large flat. Remove Protective Covers

When using your stove, it is essential to remove the protective covers before turning it on. These covers are designed to protect the stove plates when not in use, but they must be taken off during cooking for safety reasons.

Why Should You Remove the Covers?

Heat Resistance: The covers are not designed to withstand high temperatures and can get damaged or even cause a fire hazard.
Ventilation: Leaving the covers on while using the stove can trap heat, potentially leading to overheating or damage to the appliance.
